I'm curious to hear some opinions on how you believe shield generators should work in Regiment.
Think in terms of the Fambaa unit for Gungans and a future battle of Hoth scenario.

What (if any) effect should the shield generator have on the battle? Some ideas:
- Passive defensive buff to friendly units?
- Dynamically create "terrain" on the battle which special rules on line of sight and movement?
- Prevent nearby friendlies from being targeted beyond a certain distance?
- Deny support cards from being used within a certain radius?

Let me know what you think down below.

From the42ndgecko on Discord:
"I think the simplest easiest option is to have the Shield Generator provide cover. Why? Because you can't stack it with cover, so it'll be much easier to balance.
It'll allow you to move forward toward an objective much more safely, but not create an invincible bunker on already existing terrain. 😄
If you want it to be more true to how it worked in Star Wars tho- you'll have to come up with a more ambitious plan."

I feel the issue with the Famba and the Hoth generator is the scale of each.

For the Hoth generator I would remove air support, ordnance and bombing run support cards for both sides for the battle, even if the Empire destroy the shields it wouldn't make sense to risk picking them if they can't be used until the generator is destroyed.

For the Famba or shorter smaller shield generators I would think of setting a large radius template around the Famba, no shooting into or outside of the shield, you can still enter it as normal and open fire however, its not hindering terrain.

Outside these I would keep deflector shields just a scenario special rule personally.
